hey guys, I just bought a BA mkII F6 Typhoon off a panel beater, he bought it from auction.. Got the car dirt cheap.

Now the car in terms of modifications has a nizpro stage 2 kit on it, plus a xforce 4" dump into twin 2 1/2 exhaust. So I was driving along and the car stalls when the engine is warm.. So I took it to Blue Power racing developments and put it on the dyno for a power run and check AFR etc.. It come out at 298 rwkw at 14psi.. The boost was also not holding at 14 psi to redline, I think was droping down to like 12 or something..

Is this power normal? Guys at blue power said its a "ok" power level considering all the mods?

They also said its got a very c##p tune on it, although AFR is ok..

I thought with a plenum at 14 psi these cars make like 340 rwkw, and maybe even more considering its a Manual!

One other thing though, the nizpro core was taken out and replaced by a PWR core, still using nizpro end tanks..

Maybe that's all the owner wanted. I know of another nizpro car that had all the mods and only tuned to 300rwkw@13psi.

Are You happy with how the car performs now? It obviously has more potential with more boost.

what is possible if I get it retuned?

Can I get like 330 rwkw on 14psi with the nizpro plenum?

1 psi is equal to 10 rwkw, so if they put on 2 psi more which equals 16 psi im onnly gonna get like 320 rwkw? is this theory right?

Similar cars with 16-17psi are making 360+.

Its hard to speculate over forums, the best thing you can do is take it to a tuner as you have, and get then to retune it. They may stumble across why its like that while tuning it.

As you've mentioned already, they told you its a crap tune, so I wouldn't go basing the very rough rule of 1psi=10rwkw off the figures its currently making.

Sounds like a sh*t tune... Or the actuator may be f*cked if it's not holding boost... Or could be an issue with the waste gate. I assume it's been ported if Nizpro stage 2...

Also why would they change Nizpro core to pwr? Nizpro has proven efficiency...

the car was hit from the front slightly, damaging the nizpro core.. so a tube n fin pwr was welded onto nizpro end tanks..

I was told by bpr that the drop on boost pressure would be intentional or else "would blow the motor"..

Maybe he is talking about the hard red line cut out??

First thing you should do is sort a replacement cooler, the setup you have now sounds dodgy.

You should be able to make 340@14psi, but it depends on how the tuner likes to tune the car. Or maybe it had a to4z and the owner pulled it off before he sold up.

How do you figure? 15psi would be making 150KW. Doesn't make any sense.

A plenum alone does fark all. Need the tune to suit. If bluepower said the tune is crap then its crap. Get it retuned but at the end of the day its a ba motor.

Henz, ba would never do that power at the boost. would need some timing to do and would be seriously straining the engine.

OP has only told us about the intake and exhaust. what about fuel system? have the valve springs and turbo been done?
