I know what a CAC is, I was a heavy duty mechanic for 11 years.

Inlet pressure ratio is important. A high PR has the same effect on air density as excessive intake temps. Inlet track diameter/length after the turbo doesn't affect the PR only restriction before the turbo.

A reduced PR also greatly improves throttle response as the turbo has a higher mass of air available to it so is able to produce the desired boost pressure with less effort

Re drawing air from behind the headlight, have you taken notice of the volume of air available through the bottom inlet on the bumper and the area below the headlight? It would be many many times the volume the Herrods/SS Cai's. (which are drawing the bulk of the air from behind the headlight as it is anyway)
