Hey guys Ive been looking to start doing some basic upgrades to to my T and figred the air box is a good place to start. I know alot of people prefer the phoon lower snorkel or some thing like APS or Highflow's CAI but I was wondering if anyone had the herrod one and if so what is your opinion of it?

This is the one im asking about. http://www.herrodmotorsport.com.au/HerrodPerformanceProducts/EngineComponents/BABFColdAirInductionKit/tabid/248/Default.aspx

Cheers Chris

I'm not too sure what there worth but you can do a bit better for your money. It is a great bit of gear but the f6 lower snorkel would do the same job for 1/4 of the price.

I have to admit that a big part of the appeal towards the Herrod one is the looks. The APS and Highflow are pretty much a larger aftermarket F6 lower snorkel and for $90. After all how often do you drive with the bonnet up :drivingalong:

Stainless doesn't have one that uses the stock cross over as it's a waste of time.

If you plan on going further with your mods then you're better off just ripping out all the standard stuff and just putting a full cooler and intake kit on.

If your a little handy with a grinder you could make your own. I have included 2 pics that might help.. In one there is a pic of the snorkel that was trimmed back to follow the line of the bonnet mounted rubber seal. The other is some 150mm diameter aluminium ducting. This was pushed into an oval shape and pulled out to fit into open area below the headlight. Cuts were made to allow it to fit through aircon piping. Food for thought. Cheers

I agree turbo side is the best, however what if you get canaried? 1 intake mod right so intercooler + turbo or passenger side pod breaks that? I wanted to go turbo side but the other day I got pulled up talking on the phone while driving, the cop took one look at my gauges (my car is stock looking) and asked to pop the bonnet...couldnt see anything and that was it...now turbo side if the cop is slightly in the know would pick this up..

anyone have this problem?

PS the herrod one look like the 'autotechnica' ones from fleabay/autobarn which go for about 280
