THCOOK Member 58 Member For: 15y 9m 26d Gender: Male Location: sydney Posted 23/02/12 10:51 AM Share Posted 23/02/12 10:51 AM It sounds like a very common problem I have a ba but just fg running gear in mine and I now have this bloody noise which is called a roll over noise it comes from somewhere between your slave cylinder and flywheel when the car is at idle low rpm if you turn the steering wheel or put the ac on basicly put extra load on the car the noise will be more prominent.Once you put the clutch in it disappears because when you push down on the clutch there is load down there and everything is tight so it goes away let go of the clutch and it is back.Very common especially once you put a heavy duty clutch or once you put a short shifter any little mods just bring out the noise .I hate it just put a new moter and a tr6060 new clutch and I here this noise it kills me. I will get it fixed cause it shouldn't be there. It's a completely normal noise and can be dampened by adding more oil.It's quite the opposit with the clutch in. With the clutch in the gearbox is disengaged. Therefore the lay shaft is not spinning inside the box and no rollover noise. The noise is louder with ac engaged because the engine slightly increases revs. Same with the power steering.
