Lol. Too tight to buy a box of tissues, mate? It's ok, that makes two of us. :)

FWIW depending on your budget

1

The best all round general purpose tyres that you can afford.

The current poster child is the Goodyear F1 Asymmetric #2 (German build)

In a sense this costs nothing, at some stage you need tyres and why not have the best.

$280-300 fitted and precision balanced per tyre for the 17" rims, more for the bigger units.

2

Shocks, specifically Bilstein Sport Shocks.

These make your suspension harder for handling and softer for bumps, which is a nice trick and one used by all the high end European cars. These things produces an exceedingly refined result, that like high quality tyres improve everything, everywhere in all conditions wet and dry.

About $1,300 fitted.

3

After you stereo stuff get some decent Ford OEM mats. These are cheap enough and like all the ford accessories, they cost a bit more but the quality is great and they don't get stuck under your pedals if fitted correctly.

About $120.

Do not whatever you do be tempted to buy the FPV mats. The FPV mats look cool but their mounting system is different to the Ford units; it is however also very nasty... be warned!

3

Believe it or not, consider the Ford Accessory cargo net in the boot. Everyone who has these thinks they are the best thing ever. Also with high end tyres and high end shocks and great brakes, G forces have a way of distributing the items in your boot... a lot.

About $80

4

The Ford accessory molded boot liner. Brilliant if you are heading off to the beach etc. Sand, salt, associated rubbish is trapped in the the elastomeric tub. Pull it out and hose it off. Brilliant.

About $140.

5

Ford Accessory Fog Light Covers. These are little covers that protect your vulnerable fog lights. They also look pretty good. About $40.

6

Ford Accessory Headlight Covers. These fit over your headlamps. Not as necessary as the fog light covers, but cool. About $60-70

7

A little tissue box for the slot under your CD player. That's what the slot is for, really. Useful.

About $1.10 from your local super market.

Other things you may wish to consider.

1.1

Brakes. If you have the standard brakes you make not be happy with their performance. There are however ways of addressing this issue. The best way is to retrofit one of the Ford Factory upgrades which are available as standard kits from PBR (Bosch). These are awesome. An alternative is to fit the Brembo system from the FPVs'. These are also awesome. There are other means of attacking the issue but check the threads on these topics.

RE: Aux Cable and Aux Booster

The Aux Cable and The Aux Booster are cables that connect the headphone jack of your MP3 player or iPod into a small plug under your tissue box holder amd then into the input for the car's sound system.

The difference between the two systems is:

  • The Aux Cable is a plug and wire set, a cable, a passive unit.
  • The Aux Booster kit contains a plug and wire plus a small amplifier. The amplifier needs power to boost the signal so it in turn is connected to a power supply.

The Aux Booster kit (about $140 dealer fitted) is definitively preferable to the passive cable. In fact some iPods etc do not have sufficient headphone volume to drive the passive cable satisfactorily.

Enjoy!

Regards,

aa

+1 for the XR floor mats. They look good and save your carpet

Also have to agree on the tyres too. You don't wan't to be driving a Turbo on Melbourne roads with Triangles

Thanks for the details aiboart.

I am also grateful for you notifying the price of a tissue box. That has saved me a lot of trouble. :P

thanks guys for the kind words....

Yes, the old valve springs.......personally I have not worried as I have only as much power as my standard injectors can handle. If you are considering bigger injectors, then yes definately!

Probably the most important thing on that list I would say is the front lower control arm bushes! Do them before anything. They are actually dangerous. You will think its brake shudder...BUT ITS NOT.........

I have seen four B Series falcons have this problem just recently, and a couple of them including me nearly got into strife at high speed. I was comming down the gateway bridge in Brisabane and all of a sudden a small wobble began in my steering. Then the wobble turned into a violent bloody wobble making it hard to stay in my lane. Keep in mind im doing 100kmph down a steep decline. It was not pleasant!

Replace it with the super pro item.

Also you will find the ford ipod booster and the ASL item I described are very similar as is their price, except for one thing! the ford item does not have a switch for noise reduction. I have heard complaints about the ford item for this reason.Something to consider.

And dont bother with the passive ebay ones, they have no volume, they are sh*t. All of them hook up the same way as each other, so dont worry about ease of installation!
