Hi,

Just wondering how much power people have put through there standard tailshaft in an FG XR6T ute.

I am making just over 500rwhp and I don't really want the thing to break, although I won't get another one built if it isnt necessary.

Lowering will change the angle of the shaft. Decreasing the joint and bush life.

A lot of people have problems with high power and lowered vehicles, especially if they have traction.

So what would your opinion be on 500hp, lowered, on slicks on a drag strip.

I wouldn't lower it if running slicks. They are hard enough to fit on a standard height car and yes you greatly increase your chance of snapping something.

I think my best bet is just getting a tailshaft built. I have changed the clutch and apparently the diffs are fine.

I will test fit the slicks and if need be I can lift it back up for the strip.

Cv joints are the most common thing to fail when lowered from what I've heard
