Same thing happens with every cosmetic change, most people despise it until it becomes more common....you farkin clingon Link to comment https://www.fordxr6turbo.com/forum/topic/78939-mkll-g6et-differences/page/4/#findComment-1196984 Share on other sites

I dont even glance at XR's(especially 8's) on the road. Not sure why.I'm trying to decide whether to get an XR or G6 for that reason (though I notice both cars). While I think the XR looks cool and sporty and everything, in 3 or 5 years time, at least the G6 is more subtle and I won't 'dislike' it's looks. It's sort of whether the XR will be appropriate in my life in 5 years time. The G6 isnt going to be a problem cause it doesn't have that attention drawing look so much. Has gone up a bit just this year but still cheaper than the same year T with a lesser market/agreed value. I love how TRA1NER/wagnman/wa g6et G6ET's look. The contrasting colours seem to work well like the black wheels on TRA1NER's white car. Also, it seems odd colours like orange or green or red are worth less on the second hand market. As for insurance, you guys are bang on the money from my research. Obviously, the G6ET is seen as less of a hoon car which drops the premium. Also, the newer the car, the cheaper the premium (as tab saw). From an insurance perspective, it is cheaper for me to insure a 2012 G6ET than a 2011 one. Also, statistics are likely to show that the G6ET has fewer accidents as the drivers are more likely to be gentle, careful, etc. based on the general demographic who are likely to buy it. I did all that with NRMA and an XR6T was $300 extra per year. The cheapest insurer I could find for a G6ET was JustCar at $1,720 for 20 year old male with perfect driving history. If I changed them to a 2011 model, the agreed values dropped and the premiums both increased. This trend seemed to continue until the car was more than three years old. Then, the G6ET premium would start to drop while the XR6T remained steady or dropped a small amount (I guess cause of my age).
