Guest LOK@ChipTorque Guests Posted 19/12/03 09:02 AM Share Posted 19/12/03 09:02 AM The Trick Gentlemen is to actually drive one. Then (I can say) the list of mods on the car feels a lot more like a 90k+ car and the bonnet adornment really doesn't get in the road of you view or anything like that but it sure does make EVERYONE stop and look again If that's what you like, that's what you buy the car for. AND it drives great and looks horn!! for the drive Mr. Johnson and Mr. HerrodHmmm now who remembers what sort of a sensation the shaker created back in the HO days????? Its a bit childish. Cutting the crap, that bonnet is definitely in Rice Boy territory, right up there with massive jumbo-jet wings. Made to make people with no clues think "Gee, its probably fast" and nothing more.It does nothing other than scream "LOOK AT ME DAMN IT, IM TRYING TO BE DIFFERENT AND LOOK FAST". Its made to appeal to ignorant people.Car-savvy people would see just about any other angle of that same car and think "ooohhh...that looks interesting!".But when they see that bonnet there is not much more than a groan that will escape their lips. I imagine you could ask all those Rexies you are running through to wipe their feet as they sail past but apart from that, jeez 90k for a plastic mat. Anyway tis good that the thing hoons, this can only bode well for future efforts in producing hi-po fords. GJ

I'd have to agree. It's a pointless addition that makes it look tacky.

And I think it is actually bolted down through the bonnet by the pics I saw in Wheels (or was it Motor?). Don't like the boot lip spoiler - only because it finishes at the edge of the boot instead of wrapping out to the body width. Don't like the full-on colour interior kit-out, at least not in orange. It might look OK with some other colour combos. Do like what they have done with the engine. The torque curve is still flat and fat from just off idle to 5800 rpm. The exhaust tips look good. The body kit is OK. The suspension and brakes - just fantastic. It would worry me however that for $30,000 less a good modded XR6T would blow me away. So if I got one I'd have to spend another 10 large and supercharge it :lol:
