How is a F6 in the long run compared to a XR6T? (maintenance costs, reliability)What should I look for before buying??Any tips will be appreciated. Thanks, Edited 10/02/12 04:50 AM by urihsur_navap

Don't rush it, the longer you wait, the stronger the position you end up in (assuming no one else coughs up the cash for it).Is the $55K drive-away?If you can get it down to $50K it would be an absolute steal. Better than the euro 3 runout and that was pretty good too.

Guest XR09 Guests Posted 10/02/12 08:47 AM Share Posted 10/02/12 08:47 AM I try not to think of how much I paid. Or put into them. It's a car and rarely an investment. End of the day it's about the drive. Some prat will always say they got theirs cheaper anyway.

The F6 is still about 8k-10k more and its a demo. Also eventhough I don't hate the colour, its not something I would pick if I have a choice. Also its the last year's model.FYI: this is going to be my first performance car and I'm a novice at best. is the difference between the F6 and XR6T big enough to notice for a newbie? Also I am concerned about things later on, like maintenance costs, reliability and resale value. (compared to the XR6T)What I need is some advice on deciding whether I should get this, or get a brandnew XR6T in my choice of colour and other options. (the F6 in question has almost all options I would want anyways)Thanks, Edited 10/02/12 03:30 PM by urihsur_navap

Every time I pay for petrol and walk back to the car, when I come out of work, when I go up to the hills etc it's always rewarding to go back to the car, It wouldn't be the same if I didn't like the colour..I searched high and low for a mystic colour f6. I chose black in the end as there was none when I was ready. Was offered better deals on other colours but wasn't enough to sway me.As for xr6 vs fpv.. Factor in other things too like are you going to modify it? If so how much as the benefits of the FPV are very few and if you modify all of those things anyway then buy the xr6.both cars will be worth 65cents in two years so forget about the initial cost, forget resale. The fpv is just a fancy xr6 anyway. The brakes are better, it looks a little better, the button start is stupid. The xr6 is cheaper but looks it. But It has the smaller turbo which is better for day to say driving. From what you have said I would find a dealer that has an F6 in the colour you want as you know what you can get one for. Then you will be happy and you will quickly forget how much you have spent. Edited 10/02/12 10:20 PM by dre

Apart from that they are pretty similar maintenance wise..Would I get the F6, hell yea.. Its faster in std form which being your first performance car, you'll be happier with it for longer, and WHEN you do decide to mod its the best base to start from.. If your spending that much on a car you damn well better like the colour! theirs always going to be a cheaper one!
