A smooth shifting box is your problem. You want it to shift hard under load for it to have any chance. If you are still using the S5 solenoid to give the box smooth shifts, you will never get the most out of this box. It has been discussed in previous threads

sh*t Keddy, that's not nice to hear. I'm not too sure what solenoid was used in my car car but it's not smooth like a factory gear change. All mine are quite firm.
