Pain to keep clean though! Edited 26/03/12 08:49 AM by grandpa spec

grandpa spec Member 20 Member For: 12y 11m 15d Posted 26/03/12 11:21 AM Share Posted 26/03/12 11:21 AM Once the warranty runs out I will.Bought a k&n filter however Ford advised if I put it in then engine warranty would go bye bye as I'm not a mechanic. Furthermore, if it fouled the TPS then same deal, no warranty.I'm as scared of loosing warranty as the Mrs giving me hell, see I wasn't going to mod this one... hahahahLong term I'd like to upgrade intercooler piping, intake, hi flow cat and a tune.... oh and a better sound system, premium sound isn't worth its salt. Hopefully the end result would be a safe 300rwkw

Furthermore, if it fouled the TPS then same deal, no warranty. Not sure how legit that is... I've had one in both my XR6T and the new F6, dealers haven't said boo. In fact, I am pretty sure that K&N provide a number for this reason... Just lie to the dealer and say you had a mechanic undo the screws and place the filter in the box. Very high tech stuff. grandpa spec Member 20 Member For: 12y 11m 15d Posted 28/03/12 02:12 AM Share Posted 28/03/12 02:12 AM It went in for a new diff pinion seal today so will ask again when I pick it up.I'm probably just being paranoid but the last thing I want to do is void warranty, especially when it comes to motors, turbos and drive train components. First time owning a new car so a bit overly cautious.

It's not a case of everything being voided if you change the air filter, but the throttle is a good example of what can be voided if you over-oil your filter and it fails as a result. They try and scare/bluff their customers in to being good little minions and to just keep handing over the $s.
