The analogy is simple we all buy a ford turbo six because Expensive Daewoo or anyone else doesnt make one or a descent one. We all watch V8 supercars because there is no alternative. Be a sheep and line up.

It would be interesting to see the numbers over time, I'd guess it's on a fairly rapid decline but that's just based on gut feel. Ford clearly don't think it's worth wasting their money on so I'm not sure whether that's a dollar vs. exposure thing for them...or if they are stupid.

I honestly think the only thing that's kept it going is the Ford vs. Expensive Daewoo rivalry, there's negligible mechanical difference between the 'makes' and for anyone to think that Nissan are going to 'wipe the floor' are ill-informed as it will just be more of the same.

It all comes down to engineering ability, I can't see how changing the badge on the bonnet is going to make one ounce of difference. Yeah Nissan may well be injecting more money in to the sport but they are going to be even more restricted on what they can actually spend it on by the time next season gets here.

I think you could be correct about declining numbers or just more people are now speaking up after hearing others dislike it. Having Nissan and others may get some new audience that think they are watching a car we could buy.

Ford make some decisions which shot themselves in the foot, like when they stopped producing V8's here, many Late model camira followers are that way because ford did not have a V8 and some believe you need a V8 to have power. When ford pulled there sponsorship in all but a couple of teams, some of those teams had no choice but to turn to Expensive Daewoo to help with operating costs, which in turns puts more commodores on the grid and more chance of one winning.

Team Vodafone (888 racing) proved it's not about the badge, it's the team that will win.

I still follow 888 myself. I don't think of it as Ford vs Expensive Daewoo anymore. I think of it as team vs team and driver vs driver. I probably look at it that way because of Formula 1.

I just want good, close, hard and fast racing. I don't care what badge is on the car or if I can buy the car in the showroom. Showroom cars wouldn't last a race and are too slow to interest me.

I don't know about the general races, but the bigger races like Bathurst, Adelaide and the Gold Coast have all seen attendance figures grow over the last few years.

One of the stupidest things they've done in my opinion is having a race in Dubai. Last year, it looked like there might have been 5,000 in the stands...and the telecast is in the middle of the night. Obviously the Shiek ponied up quite a few dollars for them.

Haven't been on here for a while, Nissan in V8 Supercars should be very interesting, looking foward to see who else may enter throughout the year. Watching the 12hour today, can't help but think Nissan should enter a GTR GT3 to have a Nissan at Bathurst at the begining of 2013 as well as at the end with KRE.
