Less if you are handy with the tools & a welder! If you are, it doesn't matter sooo much about condition of body, rust etc...Agree with Henz, try to find something that was maybe half done - there's a few shells on ebay that have been blasted & primed I think, maybe an XY & an XR? Posted 09/02/12 01:23 AM Share Posted 09/02/12 01:23 AM Actually, what I'm doing at the moment is a short wheel base series 2 jag, I got 3 of em for $1200 and I only bought them for the seats in the swb...Options are pretty open here, keep the 4,2 six and put it all back to standard, ya get IRS disk brakes, climate air, elec windows or lump it...generally people put in some variant of the 350 chev....been done heaps of times and for me..well...Yawn....Now, What I'm thinking would be good is a nice barra t motor with auto, strip it and it'd make an OK track day car, that I wouldn't get terribly upset about planting into a wall...Jags are actually good project cars atm...they're cheaper than 70's fords / holdens atm and parts are readily available and surprisingly cheap. I am looking at a Chev pickup project, and same thing. Can pick up a reasonablevehicle in the states for not a lot of coin, but anything out here seems to be looked at as a retirement nest egg.Dont be in a hurry, and keep your ears, and eyes peeled. Something will pop up.
