I recently just bought and installed the HID kit listed on page 9 (cheers for that link too Wenier its an awesome kit) and had a relatively easy time installing, apart from reattaching the #*!@*& clips that hold the globe in. my only question is about the shroud over the globe. it covers the bottom half of the globe and all of the tip so when I turn the lights on only the top half of my headlight lights up. the old halogen I pulled out only had the tip painted in some graphite looking paint and none of the bottom was covered so the whole headlight would light up. is this normal for the HID because of the extra brightness? was I supposed to take the shroud off?

so there is, I didn't even notice. im going to have to donate to these forums ive gotten so much helpful information about the car since I signed up. that's all good then now I only have to tidy everything up. when it gets dark ill take the car to a wall somewhere and adjust the lights so they don't blind people. all that's left now is waiting 9 more weeks for my white 9SMD leds to come from hong kong :P

heres another reason to change to HIDs guys

I had a brand new geniune set of standard phillips h4 globes 4300K rated. I bought them late last year ish and one has blown already.

so adding to me complaing about how sh*t there life span is im putting stock globes back in and saving up for another set of hids. I have already got 3 sets in my cars/family/gf cars!

I've used the Phillips globes before and didn't have any trouble with them in both cars and bikes. I know their life is shorter, but you must be doing something wrong.

Were they genuine Phillips or copies, as there's plenty around!

All their blue/diamond/crystal vision globes are just for wank factor anyway, the tinted glass just blocks light output.

for what headlights are intended to do, the power2night and xtreme are better options.

Did you guys have to take your headlights out to install them? Or was there enough room to leave them in....Got my HID's today and noticed in the instructions that the headlight needs to have a 25mm hole saw cut into the back of it....this sound right?!?

no cutting needed that's crap, set aside a good 3h if you are gonna take headlights out but you shouldnt have to it just maked it easier to see how the clips and stuff come off

Lol I thought the same FOONIN and for some reason I couldn't get mine in (must've been on an angle), anyway took them back to change over looms and mentioned they wouldn't fit. Fair to say he made me look the twit haha, went straight in. Just need to take out battery and airbox. I could get mine in with the airbox there but I was pushing it back a fair bit to squeeze it in lol. With a strong hold cos if I let that go, globe would've broke. I was just too lazy to take the box out haha

no leave the headlights in. but as shy mentioned, you will need to remove air box and anything in your way.

the 25mm is the hole size needed in the back of the headlight globe covers. they screw off the back of the headlight.

the hole is there to feed the wires through, and there should be a rubber gromet thing on the wires that you push into the hole once the wires are fed through. this seals it from water.
