yeah, the ones I use are right heeeeerrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrre ----> http://www.ebay.com.au/itm/H4-H-L-HID-Philips-PL-Kit-FALCON-FG-G6-G6E-TURBO-/200570927725?pt=AU_Car_Parts_Accessories&hash=item2eb2f57a6d.

but if he is using the ballasts pictured there, im not sure on their reliability (not to say that it'll be bad) as I have the ones that are in the 2nd pic of the actual item, not the description picture...

quite a bit more expensive, but I believe that the genuine phillips globes are worth it, but cheap ones can be very good too, as production costs have only gone a sh*tload down in the last few years, so its quite possible the same good ones here are also sold much cheaper elsewhere.

Refer to my other post# 114 (page 3) in this thread for the do's and dont's of HID usage, as I've been through a sh*tload of bad/good :P

I reckon ill go the philips hid next time round. as long as they have the smaller ballast and seperate wiring loom for each, keith? as I know its either you or your bro with the one loom over the radiator philips kit=\

I've had genuine Phillips kits before, cost a ridiculous amount but are amazingly good. Next best kits came from eBay supplier "95soarer".

These were very good and very bright.

I recently started using Alex only because the kits were incredibly cheap- still of decent quality and imo better than halogen bulbs.

the only one that has completely separate wiring looms, is the standard H4, not the H4 High-Low (bi-xenon). All H4's that are High/Low have to have the over the radiator bit (easy to hide away and run the wire anyway, IMHO), because it is the part that connects to the relay which "actuates" the solenoid in each globe itself to move the shielding so the "High" portion can be used. All HID kits that I see nowadays have the slimline ballasts, but really, the full-size ones are not that big anyway, and EASY to mount with some cable ties etc.

Mine has the over the radiator loom bit and my Bro's one did too, but he sold that car and now has a FG MkII GT 335 which only has H7's (no high/low to them) so they'll have separate looms

To Dre, yeah, cheap ones are worth a go if they are that much cheaper, because if they break, just buy a whole new kit! no worries there.. except the downtime between having working globes :)

I do indeed have HID's, 6000K. I don't exactly show off the fact that I do have them, just REALLY appreciate the extra light output on dark drives along the highway to/from events in Melbourne.

Had 8000K at one stage in my old car (which nobody here ever even saw), that's quite blue, and it even passed a roadworthy once! hahahaha not sure how... anyway... 8000K is great for attracting attention, 6000K everybody probably assumes you're a BMW or Mercedes from a distance, but it does certainly offer more light output

HID's are in and look good so far, im yet to see them at night so will take them for a test tonight. Definatly took longer then an hour to install and im supposed to be a lecy by trade. I was a little anal on how my wiring looked so that took some time and it didnt help with a 4" airbox and battery relocation in the way, also had to duck down to the shop for a little double sided tape. Wasn't hard to install just a little fiddley to get the wiring looking shmicko, probably took me a bit over 2 hours start to finish I guess im just sloooooow :laughrolling:

Lol if u take longer just means you're more meticulous with doing the job :) I just to take the battery and the box out. And just lifted the lid on the standard air box. Managed to get the light in without taking the bottom half out. Post up some pics :spoton:

Got my HID kits from eBay this morning overnight postage

Installed them both today, Hi/Los and Foggies, already have all the parker/interior lights.

Looks great, quality seems pretty good, excellent customer service, can't say much for how long they last yet but will update in time.

Now just need to adjust tomorrow so I don't do any serious long term damage to the eyes of passing motorists. :)
