Philips make quality globes that's for sure (as long as it is genuine, as there are TONS of cheap copies etc)... but unfortunately, in trying to change the "colour" of a standard halogen globe's output, they put a blue coating on the glass portion of the globe, which causes the blue plastic coating to melt slowly and leave some of its production oil's behind when melting.

As any reasonable halogen globe replacer has ever known, oil on the glass causes it to heat up and crack the glass, hence wrecking the filament and 100% of the globe's output, that's why the philips bluevision and diamondvision globes do not last very long unless you don't drive it at night for large periods of time (never gets time to heat up enough to actually melt the blue coating).

Philips normal halogen globes (non-coated) are quite reliable, but maybe not even more reliable than just cheapie halogen's (hence they don't sell well). Philips HID's are also close to the best on the market, as they've been doing it for the longest and have supplied OEM HID's for BMW & Merc since the inception of HID's in production vehicles.

Refer to my other post# 114 (page 3) in this thread for the do's and dont's of HID usage, as I've been through a sh*tload of bad/good :P

Yea I wonder if you guys have been getting some knock off phillips or something. As I said 2 years to the day and still going strong for me and that's all my front bulbs being those, and to add to that im in christchurch so Im driving on s**ty bumpy roads since the earthquake and not a single issue.

Really funny how alot of you guys having issues with them yet Im not, I use that IPmart supplier which I posted earlier in the thread and they are quite nicely priced. Buying them in store over here costs the best part of $200 or more.

normal globes. their crystal vision/diamond vision/blue vision range

if they last u a long time u mustnt do much night driving

Firm suspension will also shorten the life span, as the vibrations can ruin the filaments.

I used phillips globes and agree that they don't have the best life span, prob 6 months to a year and I got them from autobahn and installed correctly.

Has anyone used mg-ledsupplies on ebay for their HID kits?

I will be ordering my H4 and H11 kits overnight postage tonight if I don't hear anything bad from here.

http://cgi.ebay.com.au/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=270889737196#ht_9855wt_1065

Anyone that could let me know I would greatly appreciate.

TomT, they look OK, I suppose, but you're taking a risk of shorter lifespan and/or lower quality production for the cheaper ones...

Personally I wouldn't purchase them, but that's just my opinion.

Looks cheap enough to give them a try! You can be the first person to gives us a review of this ebay seller.

What kit have you used? On eBay as well?

The kits offered from the contact that a lot of the guys in this thread have purchased from are actually cheaper than that.

Only looking at these as I wanted to play around with them this long weekend, with overnight postage.

Sweet, thanks guys.

It's not that much money to blow, so I'll give these ones a go and let you all know.

If they are $@#% I'll buy the better quality ones you use, Keith.
