Probably one of the easiest things id done to the car, took like 10mins to install.. I have my battery re-located (nizpro kit) so access was not a problem.

It isn't that dark outside yet so can't comment on how much more light there is, but I'm lovin the colour, very white with a hint of blue..

Looking good mike! It makes such a difference to the look of the car over the yellow globes!

When you go high beam your normal H4 headlights will switch filament to the high one and also put your H7 highs on, so basically in high beam all the lights in your headlamps are on. But if your normal lamps are actually turning off as you say it is probably because the h4 high filaments are busted or someone put bulbs in without the high part.

Thanks Daniel, just need those LED parkers now to finish it off.. Also need new fog lights as the ones that came with the body kit are sh*t, I wanna HID them up too.. Also keen to get the h7's done..

Wenier, I had a muck around before I put the HDI's in.. headlights on, pull the stalk back and the headlamps stay on aswell with the high beams, but when I push the stalk forward to 'lock' the stalk in high beam, the headlight goes off leaving only the high beam lights on. So in order to not having the HID's turning on and off too quickly, I just have to pull on the stalk and hold it there when/ if I need high beams..

Just to clarify this is what happens with stock globes (On a BF but FG's operate the same)

Low beam - Outer headlights on, filaments most forward in the globes light up.

Flash (pulling stalk towards yourself) - Both filaments in the H4 globe light, as well as the inner dedicated high beams.

Pushing stalk forward/locking in high beam - Outer H4 globes switch to the rear filament, and inner dedicated high beams turn on.

With the HID H4's there is one filament, it simply moves back to where the high beam filament would be when high beams are on.

Not sure what happens when pulling the stalk backwards to flash though as it cant be in both positions at once like a standard H4 dual filament globe.

I'd just use them as normal, but only use high beams if you think you'll have enough time for them to warm properly. The H4's wont matter, but the inners will as they'll be the ones warming up.

Pulling the stalk back will be the same as pushing it forward I imagine?

I'm assuming the 'headlights' your referring to are just the low beams?

1600dave, correct you explain it a lot better than I did lol..

Just went outside for a look, and the HID's stay on no matter the position of the stalk.. And yes the inner headlamps H7's? are the ones that'll need the warm up time, also they look really sh*t when used with the HID headlamps the yellow sticks out like dogs balls.. Might get that sorted tomo.

Looks good anyway.

Reckon I might go some 5000k H4's, with high and fogs 4300k for better performance, won't matter if they don't match exactly as they aren't on when other traffic is around.

Bit OT, but I can't stand people that drive round with poorly adjusted headlights (supposedly an rwc item isn't it?), foggies on when its not foggy whatsoever, or parkers & fog lights on instead of low beams. I use my low beams during the day sometimes for visibility on sh*t roads or around sh*t drivers.
