It has been recovered damaged enough to be a write-off. A report by a Forensic investigator stated that 'no forced entry, alarm was in place, ignition/stering lock had not been defeated by manipulation and no evidence the immoboliser had been defeated.' Thus concluding that a correctly coded eletronic key must have been used.Would anyone be able to point me in the direction of evidence/experts that may indicate this is not the first XR6 to be stolen in this way.He had it for 18 months and was his pride and joy. When the Police found it abandoned, he was told by the insurance company to secure the vehicle. He did and tried the ignition but would not turn over.Eight months later, the Insurance company is denying the claim. Any help in pointing me in the right direction would be muc h appreciated !By the way I have a 2002 XR6, still near new and still love driving it and feel a bit guilty about steering him towards the car now this has happened.ThanksBrett

Jut curious as the wife's barina got sold to us with one key (after a messy breakup) and the girlfriend who didn't actually own the car still had a key and just took it one day from a shopping centre carpark..
