hahahahaha FIXED!!!

Pulled it all out again just then and the top of the line popped off!

bloody thing, so it would have just been spraying fuel inside the tank lol.

The fuel line I have, im not real sure on it. It seems to have bulged and gone kinda funny, even though it is a fluromaster (however you spell it) rubber pipe.

I redone up the hose clamps, to the best I could as its in a really sh*t spot! So I will see how long that lasts for now :(

I might get some more pipe and better clamps as the clamps I got with it cut into the pipe.

Thanks for the help guys, you had the diagnosis down pat pretty much!

make sure there are no kinks or tight bends as that hose is pretty thick and dosnt compress easily it will restrict your flow and gain no advantages over stock pump, also when tuning they will be chasing fuel, better to spend a little more time and effort to use the stock hose as it can compress on its self without restricting flow

Where can I get a standard hose from? Fraud?

Mate, read my thread that I linked earlier on. The only line to use is the Gates one if you don't want to be pulling the pump out time after time. I've seen all sorts of attempts at this and fixed a couple of both jobs. The gates hose will not kink if you measure and cut it right so that the pump holder sits at the bottom of the tank. Measure the depth of the tank and height of the pump cradle and work out how long the hose needs to be so when you install the pump cradle it only compresses about 5-10mm until you get a seal at the top of the tank.

I've read it and I'm now doing what you've done. The ute pump assembley is a fair bit taller so its always out, hose kinking will not be an issue.

They only problem I am having is doing up the hose clamp on the top of the assembley.

I can barely get the screw driver up there without sliding the clamp done & making it ineffective.

Don't use a screw driver. Open ended spanner is they way to go, 1/4 of a turn at a time. My clamps had a 6mm head on them from memory and you should be able to slip a ring spanner on there easily too.

Don't over-tighten the clamps. Tighten them enough so they bite into the line without cutting into it.
