Hi all,

Here is my previous post before Christmas:

My car drives normally up to about 3000 rpm. When it gets to there it misses badly and will not accelerate. When I back off there is a loud turbo flutter sound.

I have done the following already:

Replaced sparkplugs with Iridiums

Replaced Coils

Replaced O2 Sensor

Did Boost Solenoid lube job (As shown on site)

and last replaced Wastegate Actuator.

I have now also eliminated traction control, changed fuel filter, replaced spark plugs, coils again and regapped. My 'general' mechanic although lacking in knowledge has at least been patient and not ripped me off - has officially given up.

Any more ideas??

Have not got a boost guage so not sure if it is at full boost but it consistently happens at around the 3,000 mark.

The idle is fairly smooth but occasionally it will just 'drop out' and almost stall. This definitely happens after I pull up - after it misses at 3,000 rpm.

Im just curious, you dont happen to have the SCT upgrade on your car do you ?

It pricked my ears cause the safe tune option will not allow your car to exceed 3000rpm, it will cut fuel etc. If your not sure I would check up on it cause many aftermarket piggy back management systems do this.

If not, to me from experience it sounds like a fuel cut symptoms, which all lie within the ECU

To save you money these are the quick steps I would perform

1) Check you do not have "safe mode" engaged if you have a piggy back system on your ECU

2) If you have a standard "Untouched" ECU I would head to ford and get them to do a full systems check.

3) If you do not have a ford dealer close by , try to get a sound file from your phone and post it up in the thread so I can listen.

All what you describe sounds more like engine management problems, though still its a stab in the dark without being there.

Hi guys,

I forgot to say that I have replaced the fuel filter also. Have not done the fuel pump though.

The engine management is untouched.

Earlier the messages were "spark", " oxygen" etc. This is what the mechanic told me anyway. I just kept replacing things and it is still busted.

Also the some turbo fins are damaged. No other turbo issues re sounds, movement etc. Could this be an issue?
