looking forward to the results mate!

You'll hit 350 pretty easy mate prob on 15 - 16 lbs!

Thanks Veva, that is the kind of power level I am looking for, slightly under or over, no issue. The grin on my face will be what matters mate! Good to chat to you the other day too mate. Well worth the phone call! You are on 'Team Bad Homer'!! Excellent.

Hi jack did you consider the territory rear brakes option, has any one tried to fit territory turbo fronts at this point in time I looked at one today and its looks very do-able , ihave fitted the brembo front territory rears on my fg xr6 t ute and can highly recomend it for my g I want to stay on the factory wheels which counts out the brembos atm ,

Nah mate I hadn't really considered anything other than the actual Brembos/Alcons/Harrops and when that all was put in the too hard basket by the suppliers I just headed out and picked up T3 DBA's with Ultimates. Wonderful combo, more than enough for what I use the car for.

Update!

The car is now at Bluepower in Campbellfield.

Due to Dyno Dynamics providing a software update yesterday afternoon the only thing that really happened was a lot of chatting for couple of hours while I waited for my hire car to be ready done the road. Once the software update was finished late in the afternoon we managed to get 3 baseline power runs down as a starting point...

Best was 229.5rwkw @ 10.5psi. Worst was 225rwkw, didn't get a boost figure for that run but with the graph overlay they were all within a few kw of each other and really just mirrored all the way up the line. Theo was great showing me the fuel line and just how 'fat' it is from the factory etc.

So here we are! 1 week and I'll have my 'new' car back! Budget come through too, that is where I am getting my hire car from. They didn't end up having an Getz cars for me (thank god lol) and I got a free upgrade to a brand spanking new Nissan X-Trail! Thanks Budget!!

Another update...

I've been over to see the lads at BPR today.

Unfortunately the factory XR8 airbox has been ditched as the Plazmaman V.2 piping kit will not fit around the XR8's larger intake snorkel. For the time being a BPR intake has been fitted to get the car up and running. They did try a stock airbox on the car and that didn't fit either for those that are interested. Troubleshooting it to try and keep my original idea of a stock standard engine bay is very pleasing though.

Due to a delay in starting on the car from circumstances outside of Theo and Chris's control the TrueTrac will now be fitted next Monday/Tuesday. No problems from me on that one. I have an RDO on Tuesday and the boys have been super accommodating with me and my very early work start times etc next week.

Well played lads! Excellent service. I've read about it, and now I am experiencing it! notworthy.gif

So now, as I've said previously I wanted to keep a completely stock standard look to the engine bay for what is now going to be stage 1 of my cars mods. Due to the XR8 airbox not playing ball I am now looking at a modified intake for the car. I have enquired about turbo side intake and battery relocation. That ball is now rolling evil_laughter.gif

So there we are, the car is strapped to the BPR dyno as we speak and they are working their magic dance.gif

Nice! It is a neater looking item than the factory airbox... battery relocation and more importantly turbo side intake combined with the GTX 35/82R I think will sing a tune I'm prepared to listen to all the time!

Hi Jack,

I have the Plazmaman stage 2 pipe kit in mine with the stock intake and snorkel. I can't tell if any mods were made, still looks stock to me but a very tight fit though.

Thanks David! The boys at BPR did say with 'enough' work it would fit. As I had already told them that I wanted to keep the XR8 intake and if that didn't work then I'd be upgrading to the airbox/battery relocation, they tried the factory airbox, couldn't get it and then understood my wishes, one is to get the car back to me tomorrow afternoon as I have rented a car while my car is getting done and then with a view to my future plans for the car it was binned in favour of just getting it done. We'll work on the new intake system for the car when we get time :)

Sounds like its coming along Jack. So do you get the car back tomorrow with the BPR box and then will switch it out and retune once you get the turbo side?

You'll hear the G6 coming a mile away with a turbo side intake. There's a guy here with a similar setup to yours, including the GTX I think, and holy crap it's F'n loud. He came up behind me on the freeway and gave it a squirt, could hear the spool and intake quite clearly over my stereo and my exhaust as I was accelerating. Then he backed off, that was even louder.

What boost are you planning to run?

Yep TRA1NR that is the plan. It will require a retune for the airbox etc but it's something I can work towards, it will just be nice to have my car back initially with the new turbo and stuff, one wheel drive for the weekend but still fun none the less!

That is the plan David, initially it was to try and keep the car as stock looking as possible. Outside of the car I'm still in front :) inside... as in, in the engine bay it will be what it will be. I have allowed for this in the budget for the car, didn't want to have to do it but in the end I know myself well enough to know that this is what I actually wanted in the first place. Having had a Nizpro Stage 2 car with airbox/battery relocation done as part of the kit I know what I'm getting myself in for... I know it will be loud, it'll spool like crazy and let off even louder.

Looking for around 16psi, in the end the car will tell the tuner what boost it likes.

This goes to my post on the 'other' forum. I am not building this car to run a set time, to make a set amout of power etc... I am doing it because I want to, this ones for me. I want to hear my car come on boost and then dump it away everytime I put my right foot in. If a by product of that is running 11's and making 400rwkw then great, if it makes 350rwkw and runs 12's then that is ok too... most important part for me is the daily experience of it, I get to drive this mad man mobile everyday! 11's would be nice though :D
