Update time!

I ordered a brand new FG F6 cluster last week. It arrived today.

I spoke to Theo at BPR and he put me on to Rob at Herrod Motorsports and they are able to fit it for me. Easy done! Just need to find the time now as they will require the car for 1/2 a day. As the old cluster needs to be removed and it's VIN locked etc... oh well all good things come to those who wait!

On the subject of booking in the car, the Plazmaman turbo side intake has arrived and the car is booked in to BPR late next week to have that fitted and a final tune done! It's all coming together now. Very happy indeed.

My plan as it stands right now is to still go to Calder on Friday night if the weather holds in Melbourne, unfortuately with the forecast it doesn't look like it's going to. So my cars debut at the drags will more than likely have to wait till next time. If it does go ahead then it'll be done on my daily driven street tyres the first time to just see how I go.

Sunday March 25th is Test and Tune day at Heathcote- I'm probably going to head up!

Last time I went, I got 8 runs in 2 hours. Perfect for testing, and tuning :)

Apparently they recently re-laid the first 100ft of the track too.

Calder has been put off due to the weather... always next time.

Hey Jack the FPV dash looks good, The two extra gauges, the boost one I assume is in "bar", what is it's max range(if it's 1 Bar you'll be sending the needle off the scale on your full tune when it's done), the oil one what does it read, pressure or temperature?

How much all up in roundabout figures is it costing in the end to have this all supplied and fitted?

The beast is gonna be looking good and VERY quick when it's done.

Yeah David, the boost gauge is in Bar and it reads up to 1 bar... it'll be spending a fair chunk of time there I think!

The other one is oil temp. I thought it was pressure... it goes to 150c.

The dash cluster I bought from FTG Autosalvage, it's brand new for $425 with $20 delivery to the door and Herrod have quoted me $100 to fit it.

Won't be able to make it to Heathcote mate... don't laugh but I have 1yo's birthday party on that day. Ah... the joys of having mates who are now all having children :)

Thanks Jack.

Seems reasonable.

Might look into one myself, my tune is only 1 bar so that should be all good and I'm keen on the oil temp gauge, can keep an eye on this especially not getting into it too hard before the oil is up to temp.

Cheers David

When it's done I'll throw up some pics for you. It will be nice to have the oil temp and boost gauge without having to resort to autometer's.

Update too!

Dropped the car in at Blue Power this afternoon.

Plazmaman Turbo Side Intake with Battery Relocation and final tune!

Having had a good chat with Chris about how I would like the power to come on, I've decided and was also advised that hitting the boost in early is going to rip my input shaft off for one and for two it will just be a wheelspinning mess.

Neither of these things do I want.

Chris intentionally made the boost curve more linear with the 'run in' tune that is currently in the car and I like it. It is very predictable, it's almost dumb how easy this car is to drive quickly... but better than that it's fast. Very little wheelspin in 2nd, basically none with some heatsoak. Just bloody fast, power down, straight and honestly if you keep it pinned, the car can get on the right hand side of the speedo very quickly indeed. Almost scary how quick it gets there. The only indication of how fast you've just gone is just how far away the cars that were with you are now nowhere to be seen. Goneski...

That's what we are aiming for here.

So now the wait begins!! Excited much? You bet!

Should have the car back on Friday afternoon and will post results etc then!
