Posted 01/02/13 09:43 AM Author Share Posted 01/02/13 09:43 AM Update time The Nizpro ZF is readyto be fitted! Excellent news As always with modifying cars, it isn'tquite that simple though... always the way.I am being about astransperent as I can be here. The whole truth, nothing but thetruth.Behind the scenes there has been some to and fro between Nizproand Bluepower as to who is going to not only remove and refit my trans but alsotune it once it's in the car.For those that are Bluepower customersdirectly, I have a feeling you will agree that the boys are very protective oftheir customers cars and their interests. I know for a fact that Chris loves mycar, it is really saying something when he is very much a V8 guy through andthrough. He mentions it each time I'm in, I think we have made a brilliantstreet car, one that can be raced when I feel like it, better than that though,it is perfectly reliable. We could've easily thrown another couple of psiat the stock bottom end to make a figure over 400rwkw. It could have a far moreaggressive tune in it down low so the car will 60ft better at the drags. Wedidn't though. Honestly, it isn't required. It would create an unreliablepackage. It wouldn't make it a perfectly mannered street car, that is a savagedrive when pushed but still returns low 11's per 100kms and does upwards andover 700kms a week, week in, week out. It's just me who wants to keep pushing alittle bit more... 11.11 isn't quite fast enough (< idiot )So here we come to the 'issue' ofIntellectual Property. IP. I'd never have thought I'd put those words in a postI suppose in the end, it comes downto my car, Darth is a very public build, on a very public forum. There is a hellof a lot to lose if it goes pear shaped. First is my investment in my car. ThenBluepower and also now in this case, Nizpro.I can completely understandNizpro's position about IP. I can also completely understand how protective theBluepower boys are of my car and my interests. They have been phenomenal to saythe least. So here we are. When I get my next available chance,Nizpro will be removing my old ZF, fitting their new Stage 2 one and retuningthe car. Not only the ZF tune, also the engine tune. It is, according to Simonat Nizpro to take complete advantage of their knowledge of their ZF technologyand to tune the car accordingly. So I suppose now, Darth is becomingsomewhat of a 'joint venture' between Bluepower and Nizpro. As anyone with atuned car can attest to, you become very much aligned with your tuner of choice.Especially for me with the way the Bluepower boys but also their fellowcustomers have taken me in as one of their own, a cracking good bunch of ladsyou'll be hard pressed to find. Knowing both Simon and Dave at Nizpro, havingbeen a customer of theirs with my last turbo Falcon, I'll also be in great handshere, no doubt. They do lead the way with the ZF technology. That is why we are, where we are I haven't yet got a time to have the ZFchanged over and the tune changed.I will update again when it allhappens Jack

Unfortunately, you're just going to have to let the two shops sort out the politics mate. Nizpro do have the runs on the board so I can understand their position. I may have missed this but does it have a warranty? If not, I gather you'd rather have bluepower continue to do the work so do that. Really, if the box is as bullet proof as what we've been led to believe then as long as it has a decent ZF tune that doesn't rattle your teeth, then it shouldn't matter who fits/tunes it. And agree with stevanford comments, what if you weren't in Melbourne? Are Nizpro only going to supply Victorian customers 'cause not tuning engine?

Exactly,They seem very confident in their billet shafts, if my tuner can make a stock one last as long as it has with over 80 passes and 400 rwkw then there should be no problem once my box has more fresh clutches and a billet shaft. Don't know about other shops.

Don't know about other shops. Yes but they warrant the box without the tune.So do Dominello and BTA.
