Bloody murphy !XFT was not the choice of cheapness but the warranty was bloody appealing to say the least and at the time when boski and wayne wanted a built zf not much was on offer Throw this in the mix JRM built adrians zf for him through bruce for sub 2k (this was 3/4years ago) and adrian had over 400 and drove it like he stole it daily, I mean rollons with the brake, skids at 80km/h with a horse float on the back down MNR totally thrashed it and it was perfict til the day he sold it ........ Win some and loose some but nizpro's cold hard facts with at least two cars is now the appealing choice

Posted 26/11/12 06:18 AM Author Share Posted 26/11/12 06:18 AM It's interesting that XFT do the build without beefing up the input or intermediate shaft. My understanding of the ZF tuning capability is that you can go 2 different ways with it. Clearly you can also sit somewhere in the middle and hope for the best...One is to load up the input and the intermediate shaft and that saves the clutch packs but you'll never guess? Puts lots of pressure on the input and intermediate... leading to failures. The second is to use the clutch packs to drag the torque/power in to line but it prematurely kills the clutch packs though it doesn't have anywhere near as many shaft failures. How exactly both of these types of ZF tunes in conjunction with the engine tune are created and implemented is beyond me mate. I work in commercial construction lolJack

If I understand this right aswell ..... Simon was the first ( I believe ) to put the 7th clutch in so id say that's what he was thinking lean off the shafts and on the clutches and with an additional clutch to spread that torque out it must be the 2nd way to skin a catThat coupled with the zf tuning abilitys I dare say simon has some decent tricks up his sleveMind u XFT have some incrediable achievements aswell the 1100hp f6 and the 1000hp xr8 aparently run his zf packagesNot to mention the customers that come through I suppose someone has to drag a xft box to see if it can put up like the nizpro zf's can

Posted 26/11/12 08:30 AM Author Share Posted 26/11/12 08:30 AM (edited) Indeed XFT do mate with access to that many tough cars, as XFT has it surely has to pay off big time eventually just from an ownership/customer relationship point of view. So many combo's making massive power with deep mining pockets makes for a development heaven. The 1000hp XR8 is Dan's car. It on it's 5th or 6th ZF. He is now going in to uncharted territory. It will be a Nizpro ZF but Stage 3. His TTXR8 combo made 1000rwhp only a couple of weeks ago with a (twin) turbo change to GTX 35/76R's. The Stage 3 Nizpro ZF is destined for this car.It all comes down to your customer base I reckon, this back and forth in here in the last couple of days hasn't even included Veva and the boys from CMS in NSW.Breakages aren't just a matter of tuning. They are how the car is driven (of course!) also include what tyres you run day to day, how often the car is raced etc... I ran semi's, everyday, on my car for just over 10k. There is no doubt they contributed to the early demise of the ZF in my car. Did they make for a farkin quick street car? You are damn right they did Where to from here, who knows. I've put my $ where my mouth is and gone for a Nizpro trans. I'm paying full whack for it too. No discounts. You want an XFT trans and Veva and the CMS boys run CMS boxes.I suppose what I love when it boils right down is not heaps of 500rwkw Falcons on the street... it's heaps of proven 10sec or better street driven Falcons. You have one. I want one. We've both gone about it completely different ways. Add another way to skin the cat... lolJack Edited 26/11/12 08:32 AM by G6ET8U

Posted 26/11/12 10:35 AM Author Share Posted 26/11/12 10:35 AM Freaky I had my previous BA Turbo car done at Nizpro so I am well aware of the pricing structure. Fair enough too mate... results cost $.I've got the $ in a built trans that most wouldn't like to put in to built motor... it is what it is...Not aimed at anyone here or anywhere for that matter... I want a 10 sec car. It needs to do 700kms a week, every week. Full on daily driver. No breakdowns... and run 10's... not a workshop car. No E85. Boot full of tools, slightly lower than allowed and crossing 400m of 100mm crushed rock to even to get work everyday let alone the 100kms to and from. Looking for less than 11L per 100kms too.... Currently the only thing I'm missing is 12 thou seconds to get me to a 10.99 Jack
