Before I start... jesus it has been a bloody long time since I started a thread here.

I bought my G6ET 3 years ago now with the intention of leaving the whole thing alone. I'd had a tough BA XR6T with a Nizpro Stage 2 kit and spend a packet on it.

Got my full grandpa on and sold it and bought a black BA Fairmont Ghia... that lasted all of 8 months... maybe 9. GONE. No pics of that one... not a proud moment. Nice enough car, don't get me wrong. Just... not... fast... enough.

In comes the G6ET. Drove past it for sale at NEW OAK Ford in Oakleigh very early 2009. Spun around and went in for chat. Walked out with a new car :)

Here it was the day I bought it.

I actually managed for 3 years to leave the entire car alone. Just regular servicing etc... work changed, life changed and it was just a bloody nice daily to punt around in.

Then things changed. I settled a property I owned. The mod bug had been eating away at me for ages... good Homer on one shoulder vs bad Homer on the other. Good Homer had fought the good fight. He really had.

Bad Homer has won. Big time too.

First set of plans were a bit adhoc. Tune, injectors, cat replacement, change wheels for FPV, fit brembo's etc. Basically make an F6E/G6E but better.

I hadn't chosen a tuner yet. I have now. Bluepower Racing in Campbellfield will be doing all the work.

So here we are.

Mods so far are basically DIY stuff. Deleted BOV, replaced the turbo side resonator for stainless and joiners. Added K&N with XR8 airbox and snorkel.

I have a PWR stepped intercooler, cat replacement pipe and FG F6 injectors. The injectors will be high flowed to around 110lbs. For starters I am going to keep the factory crossover. I'm just going to see how far we can go with keeping the car looking absolutely (almost) factory stock looking when you lift the bonnet.

Piping will be the Plazmaman bigger piping kit. A TrueTrac will be fitted with a bush kit from WA. Plazmaman surge and 044 and a GTX 35/x (I think it's an 82R) turbo will be fitted. We are retaining the factory exhaust bar the cat replacement pipe.

The car also has full Herrod Suspension consisting of Herrod spec Koni Reds and Herrod Spec King Springs. This was fitted up today. Brilliant only just starts to describe it! I have a wonderful tyre on the car too. Using Toyo T1 Sports. Top of the Toyo tree. Quiet as a mouse and hold on like a single mum from Moe.

Here is how the car sits now...

As stuff happens I'll be updating this thread.

Hope ya like it! I know I am loving it!! Looking for something near 350rwkw with the factory airbox location and then we'll see from there. Turbo side intake and battery relocation maybe. We'll see how it goes first and then decide from there.

Jack

Good stuff mate, can't believe it's been 3 years since you bought it. I want to go down a similar path with the stock crossover and trying to keep the engine bay as stock looking as possible.

What made you decide on Bluepower if you don't mind me askin?

Neither can I mate... 3 years is a very long time to be keeping a car for me. The only other one that got close was the purple car above. I should never have sold it. Just stupid really.

I've gone with Bluepower for a couple of reasons. Location is one. I work around the corner from them. Theo has a very heavily modified F6, I know they are mainly known for V8's but if you visit the workshop there are more turbo 6's there than 8's. From what I can gather from the people who I talk to and the forums that I frequent they do crazy good work. The cars out of the shop are fast. All of them. I will have a crack at the 1/4 mile with this car at some stage.

Yes TRA1NR, that is my old car. I wonder what happened to it. I know it went to Bendigo when I sold it but from there I have no idea.

Either way the FG is just a better all round car and I come from the Expensive Daewoo side as a kid so dreamed of having a nice VL Calais Turbo as an 18yo. Clearly couldn't afford it. This will be better in everyway anyway!

Yes I remember it from ages ago, maybe nizpro dyno day 2007? And when you sold it it was so cheap for what had been done to it!

You are right though, after owning 2 BA's and now my second FG, they are a much better car all round!

Cheers boys!

Yeah it would've been around that time mate... I sold it as it needed diff bushes, diff seal and new tyres. That's all. Jesus I was stupid. At the time I just couldn't justify spending anymore money on it. Where does it end you know? Built engine etc... the benefit of hindsight has provided me with wisdom. Do it right the first time and KEEP THE BLOODY THING lol...

I ended up selling it for 26.5k without a RWC. Considering how much money I spent I got roughly half of it back including the purchase price... not good. Won't be happening this time I can tell you right now.

Cheers Dags!!

One of the first to put 20's on a BA lol, up until recently it was still on the The Tyre Factory website all of 6 or so years later!... now all the cool kids are putting on 22's! They look crazy too! This one... going for a stock look. Not a trouble maker :buba:
