Nah nothing to do with electronics. Basically the water boils up inside the box and breaks down all the adhesive etc... So things start falling apart. The Clutch packs in my gearbox were gone as was the converter, so it's pretty much a full rebuild. Don't know anyone here in Vic that does em that cheap. 4k seems to be the norm down here...do you know what parts they are putting in for that price?

I know the clutch packs are cheap as chips but as for the converter im not sure. I was in north qld at the time when we first did mine & shipped it to wa to get done. Might be worth ya effort to at least call them & see what they can do for ya. One mans opinion & price isn't always the right one especially with something like this that's out of blue, any saving is a good one & I can vouch for there workmanship.

So after a quick chat to MT I've been told they can't do a complete rebuild for less than 6k. Anyone getting anything for around 2k is a patch up job and not a full rebuild. I guess that explains the costs.

in your case with the fluuid transfer that explains alot, it must cause some serious problems!!! Time for a c4 or t400 :)

In all fairness you'd probably be just as slow as me too 100 on the street, although you'd look alot more spectacular doing it.

What do you guys think it would cost to drop a manual in my car? Just weighing up my options and seeing what's cheaper. Would prefer to stick with the ZF, but if doing a manual conversion is significantly cheaper then I'd rather do that
