ratter Member 6,793 Member For: 18y 5m 25d Gender: Male Location: @ my laptop Posted 27/01/12 09:24 AM Share Posted 27/01/12 09:24 AM there is not a cut off point to what is classed as an old car to say whether it needs emission stuff or not, emission levels have been adjusted for a long time, my old fairlane just has to have a pcv valve and meet a certain co2 at idle to be legal emission wise,I think it was approx 76 that charcoal canisters became a legal requirement, 86 was the start of leaded fuel so a cat was needed, there has been plenty of other things that have been introduced, but this was just to give an idea.
