Most of the time you just have to convince the rozza's it's legal, then you won't even have to get your car tested.

+1.

Attitude/Common sense goes a long way. If guys get pulled over and act like smart a$$es, abusive, dismissive etc, then of course cops/transport inspectors etc will do all they can to make your life a misery.......

If you act responsibly and are helpful/polite, most of the time they have better things to do. (it is stricter in some places/times I know, but I reckon lots of people do themselves no favours!!)

Just mod old cars, I spoke with the epa regarding my datto 1600 which is getting a CA18, and because the car is pre adr's it doesn't require to meet any emissions (other than noise I think). They said this will never change.

Later after adr's the laws changed that if a newer engine was fitted to an older car, it must comply with epa requirements of the car it came from.

I still require engineers cert, but engine mods are unlimited, he said I can change ecu, injectors, intake, turbo etc.

Same guy put my mates 180sx off the road that had no cat, external gate gt30 with screamer, microtech, cams etc etc.

Another mate had a vl with rb26 not engineered, was put off the road never to be reregistered, same happened to a guy with a early fiesta that he turbo'd.

You play you pay. that's why people build "sleepers" as it does help if a car looks stock and the driver is sensible.

I paid a bomb to get my ke20 engineered properly: everything was noted on the paper so I couldn't get hassled, from the motor/turbo/box to the interior/gauges/steering wheel - even the brake and clutch master cylinders. funny thing was though because it was such a sleeper I never even got pulled over. when RBT'd I would just go through like everybody else.

I know it's nearly impossible to pass with a modified car but I'm gonna make it as hard as possible for them to dick me, that's for sure.

Magnaflow make a 300cpi cat which could get you out of trouble enough to pass. EPA test. Never throw away you stock stuff boys, I kept all my old exhaust for the SS just in case.

Pazzo gets epa'd. Puts stock exhaust back on... "I swear that turbo is there from the factory"
