hey am looking at getting a new boat, its probably going to be bigger like 7m long not to sure on weight but I have noticed everyone who has got these sized boats are using 4WD and like turbo diesels.

I know the xr6t hauls arse and can tow loads like trailers and everything but not to sure if it will be safe or good at pulling it out of the water and what not

Plus going to the mines up in QLD so might be selling my ute anyways considering I just got it :(

Any help or buyers haha

PS I have attached one of the boats im looking at, they had a pic of the boat getting out of the water with the 4x4 rand rover thingy?

Could pull it depending on weight, might be hard to slow it down!

yeah I think t could pull but on a wet boat ramp pulling it out I would spin and probably go in

I tow my race car on a tandem trailer now worries. Approx 2 ton with tools and wheels in the back.

I also tow my mates 6M Fiberglass boat with no issues. I have had no issues on the boat ramp on Georges river in Sydney. Its usually covered in Sand and a bit steep.

You need to find out how heavy the boat/trailer and your gear is going to be. This will determine the tow vehicle required.

The XR6 turbo ute in auto can legally tow (2300kg) which is more than most 4WD utes.

I was going to buy a 4wd, but after driving one, I decided to stay with the XR6 Turbo Ute.

towing a boat that size will be sh*t, sh*t fuel econ, sh*t stopping power. turbo deisel 4x4 hands down.

I would do it and a boat that size should be on a braked trailer so shouldnt be a huge issue. But as said youd chew the gas big time. Should be fine on wet ramp you just dont slam the gas your not trying to take off quickly just nice and easy to get her out.
