I have been looking at a heap of diffrent CAI and there pretty $$$ for somthing I could make myself in my factory, so my question is , Is anyone running a custome made CAI and willing to give me some design tips?I was pretty much going to copy the ss growler just increase the size alittle bit more.

Or am I just better off not being a tight ass and buying one?

thanks

Just get an F6 lower intake. Should do the job. Or just make up a tube from the front of your air box to under your head light. That's what I did.

I did.

open your bonnet and put your hand partly over the intake snorkel, get the missus to rev the car and see for yourself how much air your car requires. F6/xr8 lower snorkel is an $80 mod.

Definitely make your own if you can mate, most of them are huge dollars for what they are. The battery relocations are even worse, $300 for two cables and a bit of tin sheet lol

I bought one of the cheap jobbies off ebay.. http://www.ebay.com.au/itm/COLD-Air-Intake-suit-Ford-FG-Turbo-Models-only-Complete-Sports-Intake-/250974890026?pt=AU_Car_Parts_Accessories&hash=item3a6f44e82a#ht_519wt_1163

While it seems to work fine.. The filter it came with was absolute sh*te. So by the time you add postage and a new K&N you're up there in cost with the growler..

its for my ba, who ever owned my car befor me has put a SS induction kit on the one with the large intake over the radiator n cut it back so its a huge hole looks sh*t and also seems to get really dusty, so am I better off making a box to suit a pod filter or the rectangle filter?

I noticed the difference but only slightly. Bit more intake noise and a bit more response. It'll help more once you get a tune though.

Stick battery in the boot.

If you're going as far as making a box I'd definitely be going for a pod filter.. But I'd recommend trying to keep the snorkel incorporated as part of it..
