Only thing that may let you down is the rods and valve springs but the stronger bf ones fit straight on. The gearbox can handle huge power with a decent clutch behind it so that's one less thing to worry about.

Manuals are a hell of allot of fun, you'll love it.

I know they are, I've driven a few and took this XR6t for a test drive and I can just imagine how much fuel I am going to chew as I'll be cruising a LOT! :)

Is there any BF part that can be fitted onto a BA? to my knowledge. No, I think 99% of the parts fit (correct me if im wrong fellow members).

So you havent bought the car yet? Damn, if your set on it, and your gut tells you its a good car, go get it girl! :) it would have driven me crazy waiting this long to buy it if it was mine!

As for the cruises, I dont think your from around the newcastle/sydney area from what you were saying in some later posts, so there is probably no meeting you (iv been waiting to go on a cruise aswell, cant wait! pics with all the other xr6t's would be to die for)

And as for "basically sorta buying the car already" welcome to the nuthouse!

Thanks Falky, I feel very welcome and everybody has been fantastic with helping me out so far, and this is without even owning the car! So I'm sure everyone will be fantastic when I actually need some hands on help. :)

No, I'm not from NSW, I am a Melbournian. But don't sell it short, I may be interested in cruising up to NSW in the near future. I've already semi made plans to cruise to the border of Vic and SA in April.

My father lived in Sydney for a few years and I would love to explore Sydney and surroundings myself. Funny, I've been there 3 times but have seen NOTHING! Haha. - Despite almost getting run over by a bus that is! :P

I am very friendly and social and I have the... 'I want to meet everyone!' attitude and want to make loads of friends, so it may not be a problem. Maybe when I eventually get myself down to the Vic cruises, you could do the trip down here. :)

Melbourne ay!? I bought my car from there bout 3 months ago or whatever it was. Flew down, drove back in 1 day. Nice place.

Well you got me excited about doing a big cruise now, lol. I might hold you to the Vic cruise, that would be an awesome trip.

Sydney goes ok, busy as heck though. (il be going there this saturday actually, got some business to do *pun intended, haha*) should be a nice 2 hr trip.

But untill then, dont get hit by any busses! :)

John.

Don't the BAs and BFs use different exhaust set ups? I know someone that bought a BA cat converter (re: genuine not after market one) for a BF and it wouldn't bolt up.

And I'll hold you to coming down to a Vic cruise. Melbourne is awesome overall. :)

As for Sydney Busses... Well... I can't keep my promise there, I seem to always get myself into a situation where I almost write myself off but in my defense it WAS the Busses fault! :P

In other news. I told the seller of the car that I'm going to purchase it, so I guess you can count me in as apart of the XR6r gang.

I got the RACV inspection done and it came back with a few bits and pieces that needed fixing for the roadworthy, such as split bushes, etc.

There was one thing on the inspection form which isn't a roadworthy item which was the tail shaft centre bearing of which the assembly was worn, but the seller is going to get that replaced for me as well.

Final price is $14,000 for it with the tail shaft being fixed as well. Yes, the high kms are annoying but everything else on the car seems fine and in working order. The engine will last almost forever as Falcon motors do, so the only problem I may encounter soon would be the turbo, but to be honest I don't really care too much about spending between $1,000-$2,000 for one considering the car has great features such as the premium sound, full leather interior and the 6 speed manual in it and is overall in great condition I think. I believe the car will be getting done on Monday the 27th of Feb, so I should be picking it up the next day. Am completely stoked! :D

One thing that I'll be excited for is a cruise in Victoria to be held. I did see one that is a couple of days, of which I won't attend as I would rather one that was held in one day for starters. Lol.

I do know that some clubs hold weekly gatherings and was wondering if this club does anything like that? It's basically just meeting somewhere and chilling, hanging out at Maccas or something like that. I was involved with clubs that did that and it was a great way to get to know people and continue the friendships. Just some food for thought. :)

I can't wait to meet everyone and get some (more, :P) kms on the clock! :D

The Vic guys meet on the Princes Hwy most Friday nights I think. They have a "secret spot" that they usually go to so you should PM one of them for the location. It's also buried in Vic Chat somewhere, but good luck going through all the chat in there :nono:

yes you are corect, the ba's run one o2 sensor and the bf's run 2. my mate has a bf exhaust on his ba and just pluged the extra hole with a bolt. im pretty sure their the same shape from ba to fg apart from the hole for a o2 sensor, on the utes, I have no knowlage on sedans though

cheers, andy
