My BF MKll engine would still be alive today if I had spool rods.Although Dillz suggestion of the BF MKll has plenty of merit. Better head, rods etc Link to comment https://www.fordxr6turbo.com/forum/topic/78598-ba-mk2-fg-short-engine-swapadvice-please/page/2/#findComment-1184586 Share on other sites

FG head a touch different I think. I have ordered a FG F6 short from Ford through my sister as she is an account at one of the major Ford dealers here in Melbourne. It would seem that to purchase the FPV F6 short I needed to own an FPV an supply them with the vehicles details??? Has anyone come across this before? I also rang Bayford as suggested in some other posts and yep, $2950 was quoted even with a trade order so I rang my sister and got her to get me a price which after she called me back, told me about having to have an FPV to obtain one of these shorts which makes me wonder if what Bayford are quoting are in fact F6 shorts and not just FG XR6 shorts? Anyways, after a bit of stuffing about, I got my genuine F6 short for $1900 brand new.......so it's the old story of it's not what you know, it's who you know!So shop around guys!Cheers. I thought it was crap too but that's just what the service manager at my sister's work said and that he would have to pull some strings to get me one! Anyways, I could'nt care less coz it will be there Friday ready for me to pick up so I'm a happy little camper Link to comment https://www.fordxr6turbo.com/forum/topic/78598-ba-mk2-fg-short-engine-swapadvice-please/page/2/#findComment-1185360 Share on other sites
