Can't believe you can have 275 at the front of a BA XR, why can't you swap sides on directinal tyres. Tyres off Rim, swap Rims, refit, job done.Scotty
Guest cul08r Guests Posted 08/12/03 10:30 AM Share Posted 08/12/03 10:30 AM Scotty,I guess it's all a matter of time vs money vs outside factors. I personally don't waste my monet going to a tyre place for a rotate, when I have a trolley jack and can do it in the garage. If I get them balanced, I might get a rotate done as well. But personally, the less times a tyre is pulled on and off my 19s the better. Those machines can damage rims and paint, and some places employ apprentices and they can be careless with wheels. Also, each time you fit a tyre, the bead is stretched and can fracture under load (cornering). And another thing. (phew, last one!) How much extra time does it take when you're waiting for ya car to be rotated. That's driving time son. I used to try to rotate tyres about every 5,000ks, so that's six times for avg 30,000ks on a set of half decent tyres.I guess it's personal though. maybe if I had a hotrod I would...Andrew
BADXR8 Member 37 Member For: 21y 5m 8d Posted 08/12/03 06:23 PM Share Posted 08/12/03 06:23 PM Howzit Gilto ? Go and see Bob & Tom at Bridgestone Tyre Centre in Smithfield Sydney. These guys have had quite a few BA's through their doors. Anything from wheels, suspension, air filters, etc. Last time I was there they had some 19" ROH's with tyres for approx. $2700. Don't quote me on the price, drop in and check them out. They should look after you if you mention FORDXR6TURBO.com.Good luck.
