dyno_d10.jpg

Club dyno day.

Car is stock, except for BMC filter centre muffler removed.

Other cars on the day dyno'd as expected.

Previous car (BA XR6T dyno'd on same machine spun 204rwkW, as expected for mods done to car).

So........., do I have a goodie, or is the dyno optimistic??

Did you buy the car new? If not it may have already been tweaked in tuning?

204rwkw for BAT is average at best.......so couldnt have had too many mods done to get below a stock version!!!

All I can say is that the dyno sounds a bit off (yours high, the BAT low if it had mods), but who knows mate, you could have bought one out of the box.

Cheers.

Car was bought Jan 2011 with 2 previous owners (neither of whom sounded like rev heads) & 67000 kms on the clock.

BA was lightly modded (F6 lower intake, John Bowe cat back).

As others will say, take it down the strip and see the mph...

What mods did the BAT have? 204rwkw is high if it was fairly stock (no tune)

Closest strip is a part timer (airport runway) & 2 hours away, so haven't yet had a run.

Waiting for the permanent one to be built, then will see about a street meet or test & tune.

John Bowe exhaust most likely did nothing (or hindered as many aftermarket do compared to stock....unless tuned for it) and intake would be lucky to give 2 or 3 rwkw.

So the 204 firgure would be accurate so it means your Typhoon is especially high for its model for some reason!

So your saying CBXRT THAT 204 RWKWS for a BA TURBO is average at best? We are talking a T and not a PHOON yes? If you are talking about a T than, as in your other posts in various other threads, you have your hand firmly planted on it.

T's can be anywhere from 160rwkw to 210rwkw...

Average is about 190-200rwkw...

259rwkw is bullsh*t for a stock T and a stock phoon... Some tune only BA's don't make 250...

Where is boost reading? I reckon it's running 10psi not 7...

A BA turbo made 240-255kw at fly stock - they underquoted to ensure the XR8 had a higher figure.

With 15-20% power loss to rwkw its 37-50 less = easily 195ish-210ish depending on the particular car. Heaps of guys have dynoed above 200 with a stock T, so maybe you need to put your hand on it to get back into reality........or maybe you cant find it. lol

A Phoon can make above 225 - which makes sense considering its flywheel figure.
