That could be the issue, and why the Dealer is refusing to honour the warranty.Extended warranties/Dealer warranties have always been chameleons........

In there should be a list of what is wrong with the car. If it is not get them to write down what the problem is.Like when people say blown this and blown that, it really does not mean much. Cant see how the turbo took out the engine. Then get the car back home and find a trustworthy mobile mechanic who can help work out if their diagnosis is accurate. With the turbo for starters just take off the inlet and have a look at the compressor wheel, see if its in one piece and if the wheel hits the side of the compressor housing. All of 15 min work. With engine, see if can start up and if its making noises. Your mechanic can do things like a compression test, leak down test to work out what is wrong.Get the car fixed privately as chances are the Ford dealer price is overpriced in the first place then sue the dealer later in the small claims court. Provided you have your service receipts then you might be OK.

I agree in regards to how a blown turbo could cause the engine to let go as well????? I would have an independant party check over the car and list what is specifically wrong and find out exactly what caused the engine/turbo to fail if that is in fact the case. As I'm not sure where you are located, I would quite happily come and have a look over the car for you (if you were relatively local) with a close friend who is an excellent and very thorough mechanic and certainly knows his way around a vehicle. Maybe one of our fellow knowledgable forum members is local to you and could spare an hour or so of thier time to have a look, at least then you could have some peace of mind knowing exactly what is required to get your pride and joy back on the road.....it quite possibly may be not as bad as first thought?I wish you all the best and hope you can get some resolve with this unfortunate situation.Kind regards, Paul. Sounds like an absolutely lovely bunch of fckn parasites. The other thing is too, if it was serviced at a Ford dealer that should be recorded on their system and fairly easily traceable, as it should for any decent mechanic too I guess. You mentioned VCAT so I assume you're in Victoria, should certainly be able to find some willing participants on here to do all that they can to help (as kindly offered above).Best of luck with it and hopefully things are starting to look-up for you. If you have no luck with your warranty claim, you may consider this if you are fortunate enough to get some support from a mechanic. My proposal is that you find someone who is prepared to get the car to their workshop. Then fix the car at their cost, however they would retain the car and sell it on your behalf. This way it ensures the the repairer is paid and that you recieve a substanially greater amount for the car. I would imagine a BFII with 70000kms and a new engine should attract 17k buyers. Hoping things work out for. Cheers

Myford, Blue Care etc? These are all underwritten by third parties (not Ford) and they are the ones who make the decisions as to yes or no - knowing which one may help with some sort of explanation as to why repair authority has been denied.Has the vehicle got any modifications at all? I.e LPG or something? How many km were on the vehicle at time of failure?Do you have a complete service history? I.e services done by the book based on distance or time? No late services? I put the tune back to stock and took it to ford. They had no problems in fixing it. They ended up giving me a new engine. Sometimes it depends on who you talk to and which dealer you take it to.
