I have been having an issue with the factory alarm/immobiliser going off randomly on my BA XR6. It will go off once an hour to the point where some nights I have to disconnect my battery to stop it. The door remotes stopped working a while ago but my car still lock but I am not sure if they are connected. If someone can shed some light on the issue that would be great as the last 2 auto electricians I saw were at a loss. Thanks

Ive had this problem, the problem is in the remote, sometimes it can get moisture in it and it can cause the panic alarm to set off when the remote is in range.

As a test take the battery out of the remote and see if it still does it.

Try replacing the battery in the remote (it opens up easilly enough) or failing that you may need to replace the remote. I did this and it fixed the issue.

It creeped me the hell out when it happened in the middle of the night lol.

LOL sounds exactly like the problem ive got.... try both of the above posts, they are the most common ways to try and fix it

try this as well:

once you get home from work or a drive etc turn it off and alarm it straight away....wait 15minute for the battery saver mode to kick in and whamo the alarm should go off...if it doesnt it could be something else
