can re shoe in the ku31s for under a grand Worm. Good buying me thinks. People seem to whinge a bit about tyre noise with the evos also. I hate noisy tyres

I've run stock Dunlop sport maxx, Yokohama v103 advans, Achilles atr and Federal evo 595.

The evos are the quietest with great grip. Yokos the stickiest, soft sidewall(got bubbles) but expensive. Achillies cheap with ok grip for the price. Dunlop the noisiest when worn, lost grip when pushed and damn expensive.

I can get mayrun 275 30 20's for $240 a tyre, hard compound last for ages but tread pattern looks pretty average..

You can get Achilles for $160 from

http://www.thewheeldeal.com.au

MUCH better option...

So, the question is are either the Ku31's or 595 Evos worth roughly $500 more for a set than the Achilles ATR? A mate has had heaps of sidwall splits, bulges etc running the Achilles, Nexen and the likes, so running cheap ass tyres worries me a bit. To be fair, that's on a hi-lux ute running 20's.

The Achillies looked stretched on my 9.5" rims (275). Side by side un-mounted the evos are wider than both the Yoko advan and Achiilies. The 275 Achillies were almost the same size as a 245 advan.

275evo's sit nice on 9.5 with good bulge and rim protection.

Nitto Invos, 245/35/19 Front and 275/30/19 Rear, will be replacing the rears with 285 next time but have been very impressed by them in the wet.

Dry grip is very good when warm.

Can anyone confirm that you definately can get 275 30 19 in the 595 Evo. Federal's website says you can, but have had feedback from a couple of tyre shops that you can't get this size in oz?

Probably am leaning towards the ku31's. Cheaper by $190 for the set and 320 treadwear compared with 240. Looked at the tread on both today and you can see why the evos would be noisy also. They do look nice though.
