I had the car parked in a shopping centre carpark today and some clown has backed into it, torn a hole about 10 inches long in the LH corner rear plastic skin of the bumper and popped it all along the top LH side edge from under the tail light up to the wheel well and broken theLH side big rivet that holds the rear typhoon diffuser mesh thingy in. Although it will be an insurance job can you just replace the skin or does it all come as a complete rear bumper?Cheers Link to comment https://www.fordxr6turbo.com/forum/topic/78503-rear-ended/ Share on other sites

Holy sh!t $6100 for $200 worth of Chinese made plastic, then it needs to be painted and fitted, another $1000 so $7 to $8000 cause some clown back into me. A mate of mine had his BA hail damaged last march with 50k on the clock and they offered $6500 to write it off. Something doesn't ad up, thank god for insurance. At least my excess is only $300, but not after this it won't be. Guest XR09 Guests Posted 13/01/12 06:17 AM Share Posted 13/01/12 06:17 AM (edited) I had mine rear ended in Sept last year. New boot lid, spoiler and rear bumper has to go on. Just have not had time to put it in to get done.Half a mind to get the FPV rear bumper and pay the extra out of my pocket and buy a front and lights as well. And no spoiler so a parcel shelf light.Think mine cane to about seven G with a new boot lid, bumper and spoiler Edited 13/01/12 06:17 AM by XR09 Link to comment https://www.fordxr6turbo.com/forum/topic/78503-rear-ended/#findComment-1180301 Share on other sites

I only have third party, fire and theft so I hope some knob doesn't do that to me. I try to park near expensive "insured looking" cars. I nearly rear ended a guy the other day on the way to work who stopped on a straight stretch of country road for a bird crossing Link to comment https://www.fordxr6turbo.com/forum/topic/78503-rear-ended/#findComment-1180581 Share on other sites
