I now get down to 8.4L/100. The best I could manage before was around 9.4L/100. How does this consumption compare? Figured it may be a result of more bottom end torque around 2000rpm (cruising speed)???

Can be hard to compare fuel consumption figures with small changes as theres heaps of variables that affect fuel consumption. I didn't notice a difference when I removed my centre muffler. Same stretch of road - pacific highway, went from Sydney to Ballina on a tank. Same conditions as before - one passenger, medium load in boot, cruise set to 4-5k over speed limit.
