Just ordered some of these bad boys for the back in 275/35 18 to go on 9.5" rims with 35 Offset.

To me they look like the perfect compromise for tread life (300 treadwear), wet performance and grip (stock on 599GTO) you need in a road tyre for a car with over 300rwkw.

I've used high quality tyres like Continental DW, Eagle F1 Asymmetric and stickier AD08, (plus cheaper street semis like KU36 and RT615s) but none seem to have the all round performance I am after wet and dry. These may be the solution!

Anyone tried them?

Tried to get my hands on some from tirerack a while back but they took a while to get back to me so I opted with Nitto's (which I'm pleased with). These seemed like the best tyre though!

Put these on my FG with 300rwkw in a 245/40/19.

Must say they are the best sticking tyre I have ever used including factory dunlops, Kumho KU31's, Pirelli Pzero's I can take off pretty hard without wheelspin. Infact it feels like Ive lost a heap of power but they just grip.

Bit noisier than I expected but grips heaps better than when it was a stocky on the Dunlops.

Shipping About $325 for 4 tyres. Plus about $25 bank fee for international transfer.

I went with 245/40 Goodyear Eagle F1 Asymmetric 2 from fronts. $199ea.

USD rate is worth it at present.

I was sold after waiting anf waiting for the car just to let go and never did... very impressive

Personally I would go the other way around with the PPS's on the front.

They are very sticky, also a bit on the noisey side.

The Asy's are great in strait line grip and not as noisey. And that rear end transfers every bloody noise the car makes. What wear rating are they ??? As good as the Asy's

Don't read too much into tread wear ratings. I've had tyres with far less wear rating with far less grip. Trear depth and compound technology must be taken into account. These particular Michelins have a 300 rating. Continental Extreme Contact DW's are 340 and they stick better than most low 200's.

The Goodyears I have on the front are the new version 2. Did well in a Motor Mag test too which doesn't surprise me. They clear water very well which is why I use them on the front. The oldler Asymmetrics had a treadwear of 240 I think. New ones should last longer at 300 but are just as sticky. Progress my friend.

Ended up ordering some of these pilot super sports for my stock FG in a 245/35/19 from Tirerack, ended up costing me $365 a tyre fitted. A good price considering my local tyre place wanted $675 fitted!! Only had them on for a couple of days but what a difference compared to the standard Dunlops.....I can actually now accelarate in first gear without getting any wheel spin, with the dunlops at about 4000 - 45000 rpm it would just let go. Even when the Super sports are cold they still have fantastic grip. The dunlops when cold are absolutely useless.
