The issue is the sensor calibration and the fact that AdvanageIII doesn't have a table for it....Headsex has his own software and reckons he can alter the calibration......and BAP is not a default value in the PCM calibration. Upon cranking is reads and stores a value. I have never seen BAP change during a logging session, but I have different values across my logs on different days.Makes sense that the PCM uses the reading of the MAP sensor at ignition on. I have seen 14.6psi on my Scan Gauge MAP gauge after I turned my ignition on before it fires. I'm guessing if I was on the top of a mountain I'd see on my gauge the lower actual BAP via the MAP sensor and this would then be stored. How much variation do you see over these days? If it's in the BOV tubes it also must take a BAP reading somehow or just use absolute BAP of 14.7psi and calibrate the gauge so.

Its generally fairly consistent though.

Will be pretty accurate for most purposes given I'm really only using it for an indication and better than nothing.
Jak88 Member 6 Member For: 11y 3m 11d Posted 05/01/14 08:35 AM Share Posted 05/01/14 08:35 AM Hay guys Sorry to dig up an old thread, but I have had my fg turbo auto for a couple months now car has 28.000km, love it to bits. Although over the last week or 2 had started to become less responsive and doesn't have the get up and go it did when I purchased it, the car is stock as a rock, so I thought I would use my "Scangauge2". That I had in prevoius cars. To have a look at boost and vac among other things, from what I have searched and read it is running low boost and even low vacuum at idle. I see 10psi of vac at idle(once warm starts at like 2/4). And max boost of 6.5psi and that at WOT ,giving it hell.. Also coolant temps gettin to 100+, so thinking to enough boost=high coolant temps?? Have checked all hoses and vac lines all good, replaced all clamps, cleaned boost solenoid, inlet manni. Returqued all manifold bolts( exh and inlet) .. This is my first petrol turbo, previously had T/D'S.... So I'm just curios as to what it might/could be, my local ford has NFI, I just want some ideas to throw at them or its a few hours drive to have it dynoed... Anyway sorry for the long winded first post when I get access to a computer will put up some pics of the beast Cheers jak88
