Welcome dawsonsg,

Hi Drew, long time no hear, hope the wagon's going well!

Rob,

I was getting 7.7 k's per litre or roughly 13 L/100k's.

I then implemented 2nd air intake & k&n filter,

consumption increased to 7 k's per litre or 14.3 L/100k's.

Then received exede ECU in last week of October & fuel consumption has become erratic, as good as 7.5 k's per litre 13.3 L/100k's & as bad as 6.7k's per litre or 14.8 L/100k's.

I'll most likely be Bosch injectoring post Xmas so I'm interested to hear your experiences.

Scotty

ITINT ... I'm getting the figures off the trip computer ...

but today I have noticed that the juice I'm pouring is more than I would have expected ...

the computer says 11.5L/100km and yet for 62L I only get 400km I.e. 15.5L/100km

that's about 25-30% out which relates to what your saying .... hmmm

our experiences coincide  the info for the computer must came from the fuel flow area ...

so thinking out loud and if you reckon the injectors have a 25% overall higher flow rate then the computer would sense 25% less pressure in the delivery and hence the lower read-out ....

hey ... that makes sense

and I thought I was blessed :hrmm:

I have been thinking of getting a unichip (phase 1 or 2) but am worried about the warranty issues.

What are the warranty issues for things such as the transmission. Can Ford still service the car after the computer is retuned?

Steve

I think we all have given up on the warranty ...

Ford will service the cars as the chips don't show-up in the Ford diagnostic equipment

Steve, the chip is the start of the "I can't get enough of this" power chase ... :hrmm:

Oh well Rob,

it was nice while it lasted. Welcome back to reality my friend.

The values I quoted above are from the trip computer.

But I also maintain a separate spreadsheet (I'm anal retentive remember!).

The spreadsheet indicates prior to chipping 11.2, now 11.0 l/100kms.

So, I'm different to the experiences of both ITINT & BLKXRT

I dont think I drive to hard and I get 17L/100km. I cant fathom my car getting 11-13L/100km, how do you guys do it. <_< I'm happy if I can keep it in the 16's. This will only get worse when I get the bigger injectors too.

Would it be possible to fit a bigger fuel tank to the "T" or possibly a second one? Could be a stupid question. If it was possible to do either it would be great.

Geea.

Geea,

I agree. Conservative old fogey with a lot of hills freeway kilometres, mixed with a reasonable amount of city driving and I'd be pleased to get 16.5l/100km!

Hi BLKXRT,

What chip are you talking about. Unichip, Powerchip or ChipTorque

Steve

any chip that allows for the increase in turbo boost and engine management

strewth .... my rear tyres are nearly ready for replacing at 12000 km !!!

so I'm not driving "smoothly"

.... geea @ 17L/100km ...good effort mate :talktohand:
