hey mate, have you driven an FG? I had a BA with 280rwkw, and now have an fg with 269rwkw, and they are very different beasts. Even down to the interior look, feel, and features.

If you are sure you are not going past the 300rwkw stage (who can say they definitely are?) then the fg will be the path of least resistance. Do you own your BA? if not it makes it a bit more difficult to decide, but as paulie has said, if you want a reliable BA you are going to have to throw a chunk of cash at it.

Looks like you have a decision to make.

My opinion

Over 400 in the future with built motor and gearbox = keep ba (weekender?)

300 safe daily = can get 08 fg for high 20's now and they will only come down further because of the mk2

Unless you like chucking money down the toilet, buy the FG. Better base to start from, allready more power in stock form, stronger bottom end etc, etc.

I just replaced the blown engine in my BA ute, and now the auto is playing up, so more dosh needed.

The amount I have spent including purchase price, I could have a very good BF F6, or a new FG XR6T.

But, I like my ute, so its staying.

Choice is yours in the end, no one elses.

Its a hard decision, one ive thought about for over 12 mths. If the FG looked better I would have swapped, but I prefer the BA/BF shape even if inferior cars obviously.

I am now throwing money at my BAT (new turbo etc) like Johno, and all the maintenance on a car with 180Ks is never endng, but then in a used FG there is no guarantee it will be reliable either plus the depreciation alone would probably match or exceed keeping the BA on the road.

UBA, no right or wrong answer, just comes down to what path you choose mate and if modifying then its a lottery regardless which car you have! (but FG would give you better odds of reliability for sure)

yeah my mistake got mixed up with all the reserch ive been doing.

def looking for a fg turbo.

if I do go with the fg does it matter how many km's are on the clock or

do high km's not matter much in this game??

I mean I will go for the best buy ( low ks to low cost )

but just asking will high K cars give me a headache or are they fine to purchase.

Go the FG,

as long as a high K Fg turbo has a perfect service record there will be nothing wrong with it.

Servicing is very important.
