Works out even better that you now have the license for a year. How did you go against the young fellas?

Having said that, to get to 160+ k's on the staright was a buzz no matter what.My XRT is basically stock other than lowered suspension. The handling under high speed conditions is just incredible. I've been a couple of times now during the week, and had the whole track to myself almost. Good to push the car, but I also enjoy a bit of friendly competition.Anyone know how busy it gets on weekends? Cheers.

Was enough to have a bit of friendly competition and few enough to stay away from risk of panel damage. Not that, that would really happen anyway unless someone tries something stupid. At the end of the day it's all good fun and good to run against other cars / drivers and stay safe. Most of the days I've seen are between 200 and 270. What sort of times are you guys doing around there? I've been racing an FC rx7 for a little while and have gotten it down to a 1:13.9 on street rubber. I think to make the XR a good track car I'd have to stiffen the suspension, but that would kill part of what I love about it as a daily. Edit: Wakefield is a great track to try as a first timer, there is good runoff and very few things to hit. I reckon 1.08's next time if I used these Z214 grooved slicks on the front too. Have been using shagged R888's on the front until now.I think Rosie is down to 1.07's? Next step for me is some new rims and semis or at least upgrading to RSRs. If I go semis I'll be aiming to squeeze into a high 1:10 which should be doable, the suspension is definitely hard enough to really take advantage of the higher grip.I'd love to go for a passenger lap in a fast xr6t, I think it would be a very different experience to a rotor doing the same time. I am part of RENEW ( www.facebook.com/RenewRotary ) and we go to wakefield and EC a couple of times per year where possible. Would be good to see a ford out there with us, we've had plenty of holdens but I dont recall any XRs.

I am in the Silver (Lightning Strike) FGXR6T with small black front splitter. I have only been using the dead R888's on the front. On the back I use grooved Hankook Z214 slicks which are incredible. 4 track days old and still going strong. Only $200ea from tirerack which is even more incredible. I run 3.5deg neg camber and 600lbplus springs on the front which even out the grip mismatch front and rear slightly but not enough. Car has a strange tendancy to power understeer! To fix your under steer you'll either have to soften the front or stiffen the rear.

Think it's 32mm from memory.Car handles very well on uniform tyres all round. Just the extreme mismatch between front and rear tyre traction caused this unique tendancy out of tight, decreasing radius corners. I'm not concerned with it and the grip will be sorted soon.
