Am doing a 'Track Day' in late January with my sons at Wakefield Park NSW (near Goulburn). I've not been before so was wondering if anyone here has done it.

From what I hear it can be loads of fun in a reasonably controlled environment.

It's not a fast circuit, fairly tight, but good for testing your car, and fairly car friendly.

It'd recommend you do some youtube searches, plenty of incar videos to check out the track and get to know the corners.

The fishhook half way around the track is where most people come off, so take it easy through there until you get the hang of it.

Be careful breaking at the end of the main straight; if you miss the turn there is a bit of a drop off from the bitumen if you go off.

Apparently $220 for the day. Includes helmet hire, I've not been before but my sons have.

Also includes the 'one-off' purchase of a Wakefield Licence.

- Good for 12 Months

So, is $120.00/Day thereafter, for 'Drive off the Street' Days

So the day at Wakefield has been done and dusted. What an experience. Defenitely something that I can recommend. While I guess I may have been a bit over cautious at some points of the track, (I care for my car) it is an incredibly way to experience the limitations of your own car.

I was lucky enough not to experience and dirt, but admit to coming close a few times. I had a grin from ear to ear by the end of the day and to go head to head with my sons (1 x SS VE Ute with heaps of mods & Skyline R34 GT) was awesome.

Oh yeah the 'fish hook' definitely keeps you awake and the first corner at the end of the straight comes at you pretty quickly.

The cost for me as a first timer was $170 including helmet hire (left a credit card as dep' instead of $50 cash) and included a licence for 12mths.

Over the course of the whole day, there were 5 sessions (approx 6-8 laps per session) for street cars with around an hour break in between.

Highly recommended to anyone who seriously wants to see what their car is capable of in a safe environment.
