Was going to do a comp test on my ute this weekend as I suspect I have a blown head gasket , getting pressure in the radiator,

just wondering if its like older cars, disconnect coil coils in thus case, stop the fuel? Maybe by removing fuse for fuel pump.

is this how u do it? I have been told to watch as ecu may play up if coil packs art connected.

Can anyone explain the steps to comp test on ba bf

thanks

Just remove coil packs and spark plugs, and if you like, fuse for fuel pump (though not strictly necessary) and crank engine to read compression. You will need a good compression tester which will reach the plug threads, as they are quite deep in the head.

I have never had any problems cranking without the coil packs.

While cranking just put your foot flat down on the throttle as it stops the injector cycle so you can crank without getting any fuel in the cylinders.

If your getting combustion gasses in your cooling sysytem,it would definately have running temperature issues. Are you trying to say that there is excess pressure in cooling system and its blowing hoses off or??

its not blowing hoses off, just lets pressure out once stoped out the radiator cap.

but now I am gettin the same sound, the high pitch noise, and its sounds like coming from back of the motor.

no idea what it is

Its not unusaul for the head gaskets to go in the 6th cylinder, and I suspect that water is leaking into the piston, thus the noise. Only one good thing about this is when you pull the head off it will be sparkling clean, Cheers
