I wouldn't say they are a bucket of sh*t, if strong means noisy then so be it. Anything over 330 and there is a chance you'll break your auto where as the manuals are fine till 450+ with a good clutch. And then there's also the ZF milkshake that can destroy a stock auto.

The auto's are unbeatable in a straight line but that's about it, manual would tick the rest of the boxes. Yes you can drive the auto like a manual but it's not even close to feeling like the real deal.

But to answer your original question, as for fun factor the manual will win hands down. The auto is pretty boring to drive.

Stock for stock, my manual bf2 beats auto bf2 every time.

Must be the only Ford T ever made where that is the case. Or the autos are driven by test dummies.

I am shocked dillz, are we going to see you saying positive thing about the 5L next?

Thought you were always an auto fan.

Don't get me wrong I totally agree with your post. The auto is fast but boring.

Or maybe I can just peddle well? But from 80 and 100 the manuals win is even more convincing. That's bf2 v bf2.

Then again, 12.9 in a stock Fg manual is a good peddle too.

I am sure you can peddle well mate, but plenty of others on here can too and almost unaminously agree the auto is faster that the manual regardless of driver ability in a straight line when comparing like model to like model.......

Who knows your car might have been an especially good one from the factory or the others weren't going 100%. Either way, the manual is more fun and we all agree on that!

Lol, doubt it.

If you look around a bit I'm not an auto fan by a long shot, the ZF is fast but very fiddly and pedantic. It's seems to do it's own thing and at times makes you feel like you have no control at all. And with the thought of the heat exchanger being able to destroy it in the blink of an eye with no warning at all has really damaged my confidence in it.

I'm actually looking to get back into a manual at the moment. It's a good gearbox I've just lost interest in it.

That's exactly why I got rid of mine. Was sick of it doing it's own sh*t all the time and not letting me drive.

The op mentioned that the tr6060 is noisy and rough. The box is built to handle very high torque and hp so has large tolerances.
