^+1 GT turbo's work well be Garrett never gauranteed they would be quiet....

Mine makes the same noise... its when it starts making grinding noises that you have to worried.

I was told from a mate of mine, that it's just because it a BB turbo, and you can hear the BB spinning...

his car makes the same noise too.

Sounds normal even though a little loud. It could be the sound in the recording though. I do get the same noise although mine goes for longer.

You said when spinning by hand you can hear the same noise? I don't think you should. I don't hear it on mine anyway.

I think changing the line when you did may have just saved the turbo.

mine makes that same ticking noise as it slows down you have a flat spot on one of the ball bearings its minor atm but it will get worse as mine has done be prepare to be replacing the turbo within the next 6mths or so

Is that ticking noise really from the bearings? Isnt that noise the same kind of ticking noise that your motor makes as it cools down?

If worst comes to worst, where is the cheapest/best place to get my turbo rebuilt in the Newcastle area?

Thanks TonezXR6T. Most of the replies are stating that its normal. However, I have put aside 2g for security incase/if ever it blows.

The ticking noise Falky100 is just engine cooling down :) nothing worry about mine does that as well when driving bit hard !

if ever the turbo goes all u have to do change the core and keeping your housing still, unless starts cracking over time with heat expanding !!!
