Considered BA XR6T, BA XR8, VY SS, CV8, Clubbie, WRX STi, Audi A4 Quattro, Merc 200C AMG.

So why the XR6T: biggest bang for ya buck, lowest cost of ownership, ease & cheapest to modify, availability of the National Fleet Buyers discount, and other stuff I've long since forgotten!!!

Ditto , did it for me as well , particularly the generous fleet discount,The rex's people were not vey flexible, otherwise I would probably been in one of those.

Before I get flamed , I roooolly do believe I have made the right decision for

my personal needs. ie speed, handling, comfort , appointments and space.

Keeping the Alfa 147 for my wife was a lay down misere' (she loves it and wouldn't part with it)

I really loved the 156GTA but thought the 147GTA was a better car but didn;t want to wait. Also was very close on an M3 and a C43 but went the Mustang for a number of reasons:

Huge factory discounts from Ford

A large fan base of Mustang owners in Australia

The only RHD Mustangs produced by the Ford Motor Company in the World

Initial depreciation will plateau and the true value of the car will be recognised in a few years

Sexy sound and looks and big balls performance

I was also very tempted on the GT but thought that in a year or two they will finally go lightweight and increase the power so the Mustang was the obvious choice.

I only got a new car because I wanted to get a BA Falcon. If the BA didn't have such great looks and performance, I wouldn't have bought a new car. I got the XR6T because that's about as far as my budget would stretch.

Same here. Once the lease figures where worked out so I could afford the T there was no questions other than who from and what color.

I've never owned a V8 and I've promised myself that before I "Shuffle Off This Mortal Coil" I will own a V8. :nyaah:

My preciousssss was originally meant to be an XR8 but when I did the research and test drove the T, I ordered my precioussss instantly.

3 years and it's a GT (or equivalent) unless they have a Series ??? T that sh*ts all over the GT ... :finger:

I'd all but settled on an XT V8 having driven one, might have stretched it to a Fairmont. I absolutely loved the 220kw motor. Quiet, quick & V8, I was in love.

AXW01, (thank you pal,) came over 1 Sunday in his new XR6T, we went for a drive & holy crap batman, scratch out all previous thoughts & ordered XR6T. Thanks Al.

Would like XR8, GT of course, but the discretion of the T is supreme.
