Seen a 6R80 input shaft in the flesh today. Why would you bother with anything else. Nizpro can keep their shafts. Gold by the Kg is probably cheaper.............

Hi all hopefully somebody can help. I have an 09 g6et and over the last couple days swapped transmissions with another g6et from 08. Basically, 1 car works and the other doesn't. At first I didn't swap TCM/mechatronics because I drove 1 car for about a week with no issues. Today I got around to getting the 2nd car back on the road and it just comes up with transmission fault with no gears at all so I figured I needed to install the original TCM.

I got dirty and swapped the 2 mechatronics around. The first car works as usual, but the 2nd car still has the transmission fault? I did some continuity tests from the plug on the trans to the ECU and the wires all seem fine so I'm not sure what else I can do?

My obd reader tells me there's a p0701 fault, TCM out of range.

Any help appreciated.

Have a read of this.

Edit: The error code is in part 4.2.5.

Extra edit: The ford manual reckons your tcm is probably rooted. I can post some of that info if you don't already have it.
